There is no universal best position. Many patients tolerate sleeping on the opposite side with the painful arm supported, lying on the back with arm support, or temporarily using a slightly reclined position.
Can frozen shoulder cause severe pain at night?
Yes. Frozen shoulder can cause substantial nighttime pain along with progressively restricted shoulder motion.
Can neck problems feel like shoulder pain?
Yes. Cervical spine and nerve problems can refer symptoms toward the shoulder and arm. Numbness, tingling, neurological weakness, or symptoms extending farther down the arm increase consideration of a cervical source.
Can chiropractic care help nighttime shoulder pain?
For appropriately selected musculoskeletal shoulder conditions, chiropractic care may address clinically relevant joint and movement restrictions.
